When I was in BKK...(part 1)

When I was in Bangkok. (yeah I want to start that way lol)

I booked this flight last November 2012 with Roz for August 1 to 6, 2013. She wanted to see her Mario Maurer and I wanted to ride elephants!!! (And then Mario and Baifern were in Trinoma Mall that Saturday, August 3. Bummer.)

We've arrived in Thailand around 9:40AM and I have to say Suvarnabhumi Airport is very beautiful like their country. We chose a taxi over the BTS Airport link simply because I don't know how it works (well not work work) but they say it's way cheaper.

We had to basically take a power nap after arriving since we were both tired (yeah right, a 2 hour flight).


Day 1. Temple Run.
We got a Tuk-Tuk (Taxi, not the metered taxi) to get us to 3 temples for the day for 300 Baht. (really got ripped off but hey, no hate there though). We really had no clue on what to ride to get where we want.

• Wat Benchamabophit (The Marble Temple)

Entrance fee: 20THB
Inside the temple we can sit and pray on to Buddha, there were some exclusive for monks.

•  Wat Intharawihan (32 meter high standing Buddha)

Entrance fee: 0THB
We got a chance to understand what was the gold-paper-like-thing and sash on Buddha. And I managed to take a video of it.

• Wat Phra Kaew (The Temple of Emerald Buddha)

Entrance fee: 500THB
Last stop for our Tuk-Tuk driver which we practically weren't able to see because to it was about to close (it closes at 4:00PM). We did still manage to take pictures outside though.

From Wat Phra Kaew we walked to Khao San Road (about 15-20mins) and got ourselves a tour for Ayutthaya and Bang Pa-In for the next day. Got our dinner in Pad Thai Restaurant in Khao San. It's really good...I still can taste it...lol.

In this kind of trip you have to pack a lot of patience. When people say language barrier, believe it!

I commend Charice for having the courage to stand up and break free from those invisible chains. I believe this is now the freedom that we are fighting for.  Many of us do not have the voice to be heard because we fear rejection towards the people we love most, our family and our friends.

Finally Outdoorsman!

I have finally bought my shades and SUMMERTIME is OVER (the irony in ironman).

This Ray-Ban is so cool, fits perfectly, and will never fall of my face. Unique Vision Center had a 20% off on some of their items but I checked around SM Department Store that their price is Php 7590. So basically slashing that 20% to 10% off. Something is wrong with their pricing Php 8490 or 8590? because I got a different price in my receipt and it does not say anything much. The original price, the discount not even the tax, the only thing that was written was the discounted price.

The only bad part here is that they gave me the wrong box (not that it mattered) but I was checking the model and have scanned the barcode and googled it then voila! wrong item. Plus the fact that I was the one who put the item in the paper bag. (am I the sales person here?). That's not even my point, they forgot to give me the warranty card that came with these cool shades of course.

I noticed everything when I got back home...and darn it it was raining...hahaha. Better settle this first thing in the morning.

Lesson Learned: Check the items, the price/receipt and everything before going home. Oh and don't go on shopping if their closing in...their mind is already concentrated on one thing...getting off work.

Lastly:
I will never go back to this store ever again. Why? Simply a BAD customer service experience. Had to go back the store for the Ray-Ban booklet which I thought of as the warranty card and told me that it was okay not to have that booklet and I can take it back to the store if the screws get loose for the warranty. The box itself was not even for the item that I bought. Okay for some, I might be another over reacting customer but I paid a great deal of money to have the items intact. Why would you do that do your customers? Jumble up your items and tell that them it's okay and doesn't matter that you only got the shades and the case and the microfiber cloth? I mean, what the hell?!

Death of XBOX 360 ... NOT!

when my XBOX 360 came!

I almost sold this XBOX 360 LE: Star Wars when I heard about the new console is going to be released on 2013. Other than the fact that 'that person' is indeed a copycat maniac.

The Star Wars edition to be in the market and be able to actually buy this thing for me was already a looong wait! So I was kinda pissed about it yeah.

Okay fine, Xbox One (as they call it, not the Xbox Durango, not even Xbox 720) maybe has the finest tech in it. BUT I really felt like they focused too much on the TV and the integration of the other current tech (tv, tablet, phones etc.) so that it is really XBOX as ONE!

I even bought another Gold Controller which was exclusive for the Limited Star Wars Console. See how my love for the 360?! Not yet. Told you that I am not a super duper kick ass gamer like the others. (I have more games now that what I have there in the picture.)

The new Xbox One is much bigger, every time I look at it I though of an old school VHS Player or an Atari. I like that it had more grills and now it can breathe.

Aesthetic wise, I think they have thought of uniformity for the entertainment area. I like it but it's really huge. I mean look at the Kinect sensor!

Having a Kinect that is 1080p and really improved sensor was really great. Hope that Dance Central will be more improved and catch real movements.

 Slot loading and BluRay, okay good been there for a long time for PS3.

The only worst part about this console is not having any backward compatibility and what's that about not being able to play pre-owned games for free (like I have to rent what my friends already bought)? and having this ONE thing have to always get connected online (I mean I have to poorest internet connection on my side of town)? DEAL BREAKER.

I will hold on to my console until it breaks. KTNXBYE.

Uniqlo, SM Pampanga : The Experience

Woohoo! Arrived late at Uniqlo SM Pampanga branch and they did give away some free tumblers. Too bad I was late. Lucky for me they were free with a minimum purchase of Php 2,000 contrary to what I have said in my previous post (Uniqlo SM Pampanga Opening Sale).
They offered alterations for free if jeans purchased are Php 990, and will charge an extra Php 150 if jeans are Php 590.

I bought 7 color jeans (2 of them were the normal jeans. Hahaha) I got 2 of them tumblers.
It will be hard to pair them with shirt/blouse, so I got 2 normal ones. I would have opted for the black color ones but size 29 isn't available.

Not a fashion junkie here or anything but I like the colored jeans.
I also like the feel of it when I'm wearing them, especially the navy blue colored jeans (seriously I don't know what's it called).

Other than jeans the  had wide variety of shorts, cropped pants etc...but I have focused this Opening sale day for my jeans. And boy I got what I wanted.

Thank God I came in early! I got most of the jeans I want on the size that fits well!

Gawd! I need new pants...jeans, I meant JEANS. And maybe some cool shirt too.

But on Racks entrance I believe it's going to be opened around 9AM if I am not mistaken.

Uniqlo Tumbler stainless steel is I think free with a minimum purchase of Php 2,500, well they did that with their last store opening.


Will any of my fellow Kapampangan's be there? I do not hope so...I want everything for my self bwahahaha!

Fall Out Boy Live In Manila 2013

Yup! My impulse buying is turned on and it's kicking bad.

I bought 4 VIP Patron Tickets already for the concert...well, I paid for my friends' tickets just to reserve them and have myself stop worrying of not getting the front seats.

I know most of their songs and recently learned they had a new album "Save Rock And Roll". Yeah! not that so much updated nowadays...Love the Phoenix song by the way. Not really a super duper fan but I really like their songs.

Hope the concert will be good just like Paramore last 2010.
But this is a new level of concert I guess, so I am really expecting quite more than what I have experienced.

worst hangover

April 21-22, 2012 my company summer outing gave me the worst hangover. After dinner there was a mini acoustic concert and a mini bar. I don't know if the shots they were giving had alcohol on cause I wasn't getting kicked (maybe RedHorse would). So we went to our room and got our The Bar Tequila shots. Our resident 'tangero' Boss Ops was passing 4 shot glass and it was fast. And it was stupid of me I forgot to say NO or PASS. I have never been drunk like that before. Please don't tell my mother I went on binge drinking like a college student when I'm pass that stage.
I can't remember how many times I vomited (yelch!) on that morning. I had to drink water just to throw it up after few minutes. I really thought I was going to die, but told myself (nakakahiyang mamatay dahil sa kalasingan) that it is shameful dying because of alcohol intoxication. Why? Because PERIOD.

I was so wasted I skipped breakfast and lunch and was a bit dizzy. I was better when we reached the office. Horah! And this will never happen again...I swear. Oh yeah the worse part is that it's my shift later that night...waaah!

Solution:
1. Throwing up makes you feel better.
2. Cold shower
3. Coffee with no cream
4. Bring any menthol (Katinko, Chinese Menthol  Crystal)

27th Name Day!!!

It's my NAME DAY!

I still have 3 years for the big dirty 3-0...I can't stop thinking about the number because I want to have a grand birthday (ako na talaga). While everyone may be dreading that day, I don't. But hey it's only my 27th name day. It's a time to take life more seriously now...(who am I kidding?!)

I have listed a lot of things I want for my birthday you see. Mostly material things which I want to have and I am thinking that I will really get most if not all this year...I wish my friends would see the list (LOL) but I would love to spend time with my friends and family and just have a good time.

But I really would love to have these:

1. New DSLR Camera (sad that my Nikon D40x gave up on me before I could replace it. I think It committed suicide the time it knew that I had plans on replacing it. But I do hope it's just the battery) it's the charger hoorah! - Nikon D7000, my Reign.

2. New Laptop (for editing photos and other stuff, net book can't handle it no more) - Macbook Pro mid-2012, my Rennoir 2.0 and Asus, my Renaud.

3. Lumix LX5 (camera which is portable and still getting the kind of shots that I want) - I could always borrow the one I bought Mom. ^_^

4. XBOX 360 Limited Edition: Star Wars (oh please please please) - STARS!!!

5. Lens (portraiture lens, telephoto lens) - got the 55-300mm one with Reign on it! and the 35mm too!

6. Cake with 27 candles on it (I love the idea on how they will fit in a small cake hahaha.)

7. NY Trip - and so I thought it won't happen...but it DID!

8. CA Trip - San Diego Trip, my Apung Amon passed away. I was hoping to see him alive and well but didn't. :(

10. New Clothes (PHP 5000 Shopping Spree and please DON'T stop me!) - Lampas na ako sa quota.

when migraine attacks!

Migraine, it is not a just headache. (I'm going to kill that person who ever said it was just like that.)
It is a severe headache which makes you want to bang up your head on the wall, kill the lights off and kill whoever is making that effing noise. You just want the world to shut down and turn pitch black. You become hypersensitive with light and sound.

My mom had migraine attacks when I was a kid. Being a kid I would be a pain in the a** if some unplanned  events like going to the mall won't push through. All the whining and crying I did back then makes me want to kill myself if I was my mother, because now I understand how painful migraine is...(seriously dude!)

How would you know if you have it?
Mostly younger women have it and it's HEREDITARY! 
It's starts as a headache that is mostly on occurs on one side of the head and can spread.
What triggers our migraine are these specific foods which by the way I think we all love to eat. (Cheese is mostly my trigger ouch.)
Though what's causing migraine is still under research. To prevent it you'll just have to limit the triggers and rest before the headache becomes migraine...and have a healthy lifestyle.
I always have my chinese menthol crystal maybe it is not approved by doctors but it does help to ease the pain a bit. And if it comes to worst take a mefenamic acid (or any NonSteroidalAntiIinflamatoryDrug) and sleep it off...of course call your doctor demmit.

what's your music?

My music taste is so diverse that I cannot say that I have a favorite.
Music is in my blood, it flows within me. I guess I have a soundtrack for everything. I can go from Pop to New Wave, Country to Rock, Contemporary R&B to Hip Hop, Electronic to Britpop and did I say theater music as well? Okay fine all the music that this world has got to give, I can take it all in.

It was the 90's music which really stuck in my brain. When you sing or hum the notes you can already name that tune. Well, those were my childhood years of course.

The music genre grew and had these categories: Emo Rock, Indie Rock, etc. and right now I'm more fond of listening to these sorts. Bon Iver /boʊn iːˈvɛər/ Death Cab For Cutie, and Lydia are constantly on my playlist. Though I cannot sing along with their songs, I love the music they make. It has become my soundtrack music when I'm working...makes me relax.

I have never tried much Screamo music which is evolved from Emo genre /ˈʒɒnrə/ (do pronounce it right demmit) I would like to try this one too and give it a chance. On a second thought, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is considered to be a Screamo...and I like it.

I remembered what my Professor in ARTAPRE said to us back in the day, "I admire people who can appreciate Metal music genre even with it's loud, almost like noise sounding music...", after hearing I was like ugh! and mentally blocked the whole words I am hearing from him. Now I'm gonna say, "I understand now". I've grown appreciative of their music because I have given it a chance to understand and listen to it...

January 2012

My grandmother was taken away from me last January 08, 2012.

It was heartbreaking because we were very close. I guess I was much closer to her than to my mom. She was hospitalized for more than a month then, went to our home so we could take better care of her. Or maybe just to enjoy the last remaining weeks with her. She went on peacefully, but I was not there...I wish I was there. I never got a chance to say how much I love her...how much she really means to me. It was because I was clinging to hope that she'll get better tomorrow or the next day, or the day after that. Damn tomorrow how I wish there was never a next day, so I will just have today that day when I held her hand...

I am missing her so much, up until now. Her loud laugh, her sarcastic laugh definitely which fills up the house. And every time that I see her favorite chair, I'm imagining that she is still there...but as the image I planted on my head slowly fades away and realizes she's not there, she's really gone.
I am grateful God took her in a way. He relieved her of whatever pain she was feeling, from her suffering. I am thankful that God gave me 26 years to be with my grandmother...Thank You.

I had many dreams for you that I have not fulfilled, and I still remember our last conversation together.
That was when I came home from Ortigas, decided to drop by your house since your house is nearer.
I dropped my paper bags which I have collected from the office. You laughed because there were a lot. Then you were suppose to give them to your sisters since they own a store and could use them. And then I jokingly asked, "Ima, angga kang kapilan? Dapat malwat kapa kalupa ng Apung Amon." which basically means (When are you going to die? It should be longer like Apung Amon.) You only replied, "Ha!" with your sarcastic laugh. It was because I wanted you to receive some gifts that I will be able to give when I go to the States, those little things that I know will make you smile the least...

Goodbye Ima, we will surely miss you! We love you! We will always give you a call...

We Welcome 2012!

As we leave the year 2011 to its end, we welcome 2012 with open hearts and open minds. It's not like it’s the end of the world or something (hahaha). Well I'm kinda hoping that it is (world's end) but then again who knows. Why? I would want to spend my remaining days being good, helping others in any way that I can and live a life that I will never regret.

I pray that 2012 will be something great for us all. 

Harry Potter Films

And so it is the end for Harry Potter.

It was 10 years ago since the first Harry Potter film was shown, and I was in my freshman year in college.

I didn't know anything about HP until my classmates were all raving about it when they found out it was going to be adapted in film.

And of course, I watched it and loved it like the rest of all Harry Potter fans...

It was the second film that really made me want to read the whole series.

HP, you will be missed greatly! (I will never get over you.)

Davao Trip 2011: G.Mall

Davao Trip 2011: Day 2 April 13, G.Mall

Mom had forced us (Bro.1 and Bro.2) out of our beds to go around the city and explore. And so we did. We rode a jeepney to which had a signboard of G.Mall (thinking okay we wouldn't get lost since it would be a mall right?) So here we are in the largest city in the south and we would rather go to a MALL! So there we were just wandering around…then we decided to watch RIO and had a brothers-sister-bonding. The movie was great but the cinema there is bad hahaha. We were scared to try something from the local so we ate at Mang Inasal instead (waaah!) and had Tutti Frutti for dessert. Mom was furious when she found out we just went malling hahaha (but it’s okay at least I had a good time with my brothers).

Davao Trip 2011

We left for Davao on April 12^th 2011. During the flight we were okay, not after we had some ferris-wheel-like experience and when we were about to land mom had some trouble, half of her head just around her right eye was aching maybe it was something to do with the cabin pressure…hmmm hope she’ll be okay next time.

Davao Trip 2011: Day 1, Arrival

Davao International Airport is very nice I have to say…We were so tired when we arrived around 7PM… and the good thing is that our hotel had a service (YAY! At least we don’t have to worry on how to get to our hotel) we stayed in Grand Regal Hotel. So of course hahaha nothing happened in our first day we just had to rest.

助けてください (Tasukete kudasai )

Last Saturday, we had our final exam in Japanese Class Module 1 (shimatta, 2 modules to go to finish Level 1 alone). When I got to see my exam I was shocked, the only thing that was written in English was the instructions (I was trying to calm myself down but it didn’t work). I had no problem with my Hiragana or Katakana, it was the sentence completion that I dreaded (adding particles and the verbs and stuff like that) It took me some time to get the hang of it and so I went on to answer the damn thing. .. the worse part “Okay please pass you papers minasan!”, Sensei.

Waaah! I’m not even finished yet; the fact is I think I still had a lot of unanswered items.

Shimatta! Tasukete kudasai! this can’t be!!! (Although passing the exam doesn’t matter since this is an extramural class, it matters to me.) This coming Saturday Sensei will give our certificates and then we’ll eat out on some Japanese Restaurant.

The Script Concert 2011

Will I be able to watch my favorite band?

The Script is finally having a concert here in the Philippines! Danny O'Donoghue was my favorite ever since MyTown with their song Now That I Found You...I just loved his voice back then, well until now. Sad thing that their boy band didn't last...

I am so torn I will be in Davao until 16th of April but I want to see them, hear them. This can't be! I don't want to celebrate my birthday in Davao. YES THE CONCERT IS GONNA BE ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! I'd rather celebrate it by watching my favorite band (with someone of course) than be in Davao and sulk in (unless they re-schedule it then it would be a win-win situation for me).

I have these options though:
1. I can go and leave my Mom and brothers there in Davao and have an early flight back to Manila.
2. Book a day early flight back to Manila
3. Beg my Mom to not attend the last day of convention...common it's the last day anyway.

Am I that bad? I just want to see their concert so bad .T_T. Of course I would also want to celebrate it with my family though.
